Claire Weaver-Zeman is a recent RISD graduate. The independent women in Claire’s work are in the process of recognizing their power and authority through rituals, animal familiars, and powerful talismans. The imagined festivities that occur focus on finding innate creative power inside of yourself that is not outwardly defined by a social institution or a god, but is strengthened by joy, pleasure and determination.
