Fluorescent Works

In her exploration of neon painting (also called “blacklight painting”), Luppi executes a series of vibrant geometric studies, as a perceptual adventure of human emotion. The juxtaposition of primary colors and vivid, direct shapes are intended to show luminosity, and yet diffently, in the two contaxts of this medium, normal light and “black light.” This double objective, which in a sense is a “duplicated reality,” underlies the emotional contasts and perspectives that form these paintings.

Eveline is a 3rd generation New York School artist who has lived and worked in NYC for many years. She currently resides in RI. She studied life drawing at RISD and abstract painting, drawing and sculpture at the Art Students League in NYC. She has taught abstract painting at the Providence Art Club and the Newport Art Museum. She has exhibited in New York, throughout New England and in the Hamptons.

Her work can be found online at https://www.evelineluppi.com. Luppi’s work will be on display at the Gallery at Sprout CoWorking in Providence during the month of November until January 6.

Warren

Mary Casale

Rhode Island native, musician and music educator, Mary Casale, uses large squeegees to apply, layer, and scrape away acrylic paints from large and small-scale canvas and panel. Inspired by German born abstract painter Gerhard Richter, and using predominantly primary colors of red, yellow and blue, Casale creates pieces that are colorful, energetic, and provocative. The paintings invite us to engage and experience the beauty and energy of color, and the spectrum of human feelings as expressed within the context of the abstract; a world boundless, indefinite, continually uncertain.

Mary Casale’s work can be found online at https://www.marycasale.com. Casale’s work will be on display at the Gallery at Sprout CoWorking in Warren from November 1-26. An opening celebration is scheduled for Friday November 15th 5:30-7:30 pm. RSVP to the opening event on Facebook here.
