Member Spotlight: Meet Erin DeBartelo of ThinkHR

Sprout CoWorking sat down with a few of our members to hear their stories about coming to Sprout, how they use the space and what they enjoy most:

Erin DeBartelo, LinkedIn
HR Operations Specialist, ThinkHR

Erin is a Hot Desk member who joined Sprout PVD one year ago. She has worked for ThinkHR, a knowledge and people risk management solution company headquartered in Pleasanton, CA, for twelve years.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

Erin is an HR Operations Supervisor with nine direct reports. In addition to managing advisors and daily operations of the “Live” team, she is a trusted knowledge source at ThinkHR for their insurance broker partners and employers area of employee benefits, including the Affordable Care Act’s Employer Mandate. She started with ThinkHR in California as an HR consultant who traveled between companies for work. In 2008, the business model changed drastically and her job became an in-house position. She relocated to Providence six years ago to be closer to family in the Northeast and began working remotely from home.

WHY DID YOU COME TO SPROUT?

Ultimately feeling uninspired and bored at home, Erin knew about coworking and started to look for work space in Providence. She toured a few places before finding Sprout on Google. She joined Sprout the day of her tour because, “Sprout had a great vibe, it was hip, trendy and fun. It was clean and pretty and I loved the art gallery. That, plus the fact that it was reasonably priced with a flexible Hot Desk plan and had free parking made me decide to give it a try.”

HOW DO YOU USE SPROUT?

She spends her days in the Hot Desk space and uses her included no-cost meeting room hours for video conferences and to record training material for her employees.

BEST PART OF SPROUT?

Since joining, Erin feels she is more motivated both personally and professionally and has been given more responsibility at work as a direct result of her new focus. She attributes this shift to the routine and structure having a place to come to work has added to her days. The best part of being a Sprout member has been making friends and the sense of community she feels when she’s here. She also loves having people to “meet” for lunch, rather than always eating over her keyboard like she did when she worked from home.
