Pieces of Me
Photography by RISD CE
Every photograph, no matter what genre, reflects the unique point of view of the photographer and in some way captures a part of his or her personality. Created from the work started during a brief RISD CE class on finding your voice as a photographer in spring 2018, the Pieces of Me exhibit brings together the evolution of the unique styles of each exhibiting artist.

“The Seeing i” by Dan Borden, September 2018
Photography has always been about humans using technology to record and interpret what we see.
Most of us use our iPhones to document and share what we see in the real world.
But, rather than being documents of what we see in real life, Dan’s photographs are experiments, using the iPhone 8 Plus camera, to create images unique to how the iPhone can “see” the world; the photos are unedited, with no filters added – we see what the iPhone sees. Viewing the results brings to light the hidden beauty and mystery in the things around us.
Dan Borden is a visual artist working out of his Pawtucket, RI studio. His work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the Northeast, and was selected as a Winner of the 2013 National Photography Competition, exhibited at the Soho Photo Gallery, NYC.
