Fiber Arts is having a moment right now in the mainstream art world. There has long been a conversation of “is it Art or is it Craft?” Those of us in this realm continue learning, evolving, and creating, encouraged by this question. We are thrilled to introduce new eyes to our genre of creativity.

Members of the Rhode Island Threads are a group of artists from RI/SE MA who are as diverse as any group of makers. We have art quilters, dyers, mixed media artists, modern quilters, and traditional quilters. Each of us supporting one another as we strive to find our unique voice through our chosen medium.

Since 2018, when we loosely formed a small community of like-minded people who came together monthly to share our individual projects and our occasional group challenges, we have continued to grow as artists.

These are the proverbial threads that bind us.
